Colombia has an enviable variety of cultures, rhythms and traditions that constitute one of the largest intangible heritages of the world.

Colombia has been identified as one of the 17 megadiverse countries, which host approximately 45% of the world’s population. This percentage represents the biggest cultural diversity on earth.

The cultural richness of our country finds its origin in the interaction of different cultures living within our territory. Mestizos, Mulattoes, Creoles, Amerindian groups, Afro-descendants, descendants of Spanish colonists, and different waves of immigrants have shared ideas and geographical spaces over the years, creating a multicultural atmosphere.

Natural regions also contribute to increasing the diversity of the country. Far beyond being geographic units, these natural regions have generated inputs in various fields such as arts, sports, folklore, cuisine, music, and dance.
